🎯 Goal: Provide teachers with essential knowledge, skills, and tools to plan, deliver, and assess creative, age-appropriate English lessons for young learners (ages 6–12), using modern digital platforms and child-friendly strategies.
Training Structure & Content
Day 1: Understanding Young Learners
- Child development & learning styles
- Engagement through movement, music, routines
- Creating a supportive and motivating classroom
Tools: ClassDojo, GoNoodle, Super Simple Songs, TinyTap
Outcome: Teachers will recognize how children learn and develop, and apply age-appropriate techniques to create a structured, joyful, and responsive classroom environment.
Day 2: Lesson Planning for YLs
- Planning frameworks (TPR, story-based, PPP)
- Using visuals, storybooks, and movement
- Designing simple interaction-based tasks
Tools: Twinkl, StoryJumper, Wheel of Names, Canva for Education
Outcome: Teachers will confidently design engaging, age-appropriate lessons with visual and physical support to ensure comprehension and active participation.
Day 3: Presenting & Practicing Language
- Teaching vocabulary through games and songs
- Visual modeling and repetition
- Practice routines for young learners
Tools: Wordwall, Quizlet, Baamboozle, Dream English
Outcome: Teachers will be able to present new language in fun and memorable ways that fit young learners’ short attention spans and need for movement and variety.
Day 4: Assessment for Learning
- Assessment in YL contexts
- Checklists, observation, portfolios
- Peer/self-assessment for children
Tools: Seesaw, Classkick, Google Forms, Mentimeter
Outcome: Teachers will use informal, visual, and tech-based assessment methods to track student progress and involve children in evaluating their learning journey.
Day 5: Microteaching & Reflection
- Planning and delivering a mini-lesson
- Using visuals and tech to support delivery
- Peer feedback and reflective practice
Tools: Flip, Book Creator, Jamboard, Wheel of Names
Outcome: Teachers will demonstrate their learning through short, interactive lessons and gain feedback from peers to boost confidence and teaching quality.
