🎯 Goal: Empower teachers to design and deliver integrated lessons that combine English with curriculum content, using CLIL principles, modern tools, and interactive methods.
Training Structure & Content
Day 1: Introduction to CLIL & Key Principles
- What is CLIL? Overview and rationale
- The 4Cs Framework: Content, Communication, Cognition, Culture
- Types of CLIL: soft vs. hard, language-led vs. content-led
- Features of successful CLIL lessons
Tools: CLIL Matrix Tool, Google Slides, Canva, LearningApps, Trello
Outcome: Teachers will understand core CLIL principles, evaluate lesson potential, and begin planning integrated activities with a clear content-language balance.
Day 2: Planning CLIL Lessons
- Setting content and language objectives
- Scaffolding subject vocabulary
- Using visuals and multimodal input
- Material selection and simplification
Tools: Wordwall, Newsela, Visme, Lexipedia
Outcome: Teachers will plan balanced CLIL lessons using visuals and adapted input. They will gain skills in simplifying complex materials while supporting language development.
Day 3: Delivering CLIL – Tasks, Projects & Interaction
- Task-based and project learning
- Thinking routines and visible thinking
- Collaborative work in CLIL contexts
- Using global topics to drive lessons
Tools: Padlet, Jamboard, Google Earth, Book Creator
Outcome: Teachers will be able to lead interactive, content-driven lessons that promote language through critical thinking, exploration, and creative group projects.
Day 4: Language Support & Assessment
- Supporting the language of/for/through learning
- Creating glossaries and sentence frames
- Assessing both content knowledge and language use
- Designing rubrics and learner-friendly tools
Tools: Write & Improve, Edpuzzle, Rubistar, Canva Worksheets
Outcome: Teachers will create effective support strategies and fair, dual-focused assessment tools that help students succeed in both language and content areas.
Day 5: Microteaching & Peer Feedback
- Lesson implementation and delivery
- Digital enhancement and resource sharing
- Peer feedback strategies
- Reflection and action planning
Tools: Flip, Mentimeter, Google Docs, Loom
Outcome: Teachers will practice CLIL delivery, receive constructive feedback, and leave with a personalized toolkit for applying CLIL confidently in real classrooms.
